Permar & Walker – Typewriter Case

A note was jotted down on the front of the envelope so I scanned it, too. The snippets  seem to have been cut out for this person’s grandson’s marriage and her great grandchild.

Dr. Alexander Fletcher Fortune

This guy was interesting…. and not because he lived to age 91.

Dr. Alexander Fletcher FortuneDr. A. F. Fortune went to Greensboro in 1900. By 1902, he and 6 other doctors opened Greensboro’s first hospital. He delivered over 6,000 babies including 2 sets of triplets. I’m sure there are plenty of other doctors who have delivered many, many more but I get the impression from reading this obit that he was already a busy man in addition to his normal ob-gyn practice.
